How I Work

In any given moment we have two options: to step forward into growth or to step back into safety.
~ Abraham Maslow

I work with individuals who are going through transitions, or who have become unhappy or dissatisfied with some aspect of their lives.  I believe that people are doing the best they can, but that we get stuck in old ways of relating to ourselves and others that hold us back from having the life and relationships that we want.

Some of my specialties include working with anxiety, depression, grief, relationships, trauma, and people who identify as LGBTQIA and/or BIPOC.  I provide an affirming environment for members of the LGBTQIA community to explore sexual and gender identities.

Together we will examine the causes of your anxiety and depression and how old patterns may be keeping you from living a full and satisfying life.  Through this awareness, you will have more choice over your current patterns of thought, feeling, and behavior.

I will help you with your relationship struggles by improving your ability to communicate and maintain your individuality while being in relationship with another.

I have extensive experience working with individuals who have experienced past trauma from childhood or another difficult time in their life. From a place of collaboration and warmth, I will work with you toward growth and change.

Services Provided

Individual Psychotherapy

I provide psychotherapy to individuals aged 20 and older.

EMDR

I also offer EMDR, a therapy designed to treat trauma and other distressing life events. You can read more about EMDR here.

Telemental Health

Additionally, I offer telemental health (online) and in-person sessions. Depending upon your interest and circumstances, we will formulate a plan that works for you, relying upon one approach or the other, or a hybrid of the two.

Telemental health sessions are also an excellent option for times when it is not possible to hold in-person sessions due to such things as inclement weather or illness.
