How I Work

In any given moment we have two options: to step forward into growth or to step back into safety.   ~ Abraham Maslow

I work with individuals who are going through transitions, or who have become unhappy or dissatisified in some aspect of their lives. I believe that people are doing the best they can, but that we get stuck in old ways of relating to ourselves and others that hold us back from having the life and relationships that we want.

Some of my specialities include working with anxiety, depression, grief, relationships, queer issues, and trauma. I provide an affirming environment for members of the LGBTQIA community to explore sexual and gender identities.

Together we will examine the causes of your anxiety and depression and how old patterns may be keeping you from living a full and satisfying life. Through this awareness, you will have more choice over your current patterns of thought, feeling, and behavior.

I will help you with your relationship struggles by improving your ability to communicate and maintain your individuality while being in relationship with another.

I have extensive experience working with individuals who have experienced past trauma from childhood or another difficult time in their life. From a place of collaboration and warmth, I will work with you toward growth and change.

I’ve lived in Seattle since 2002 and I love building relationships with my clients. It is an honor to witness people creating change in their lives. I have been working in the mental health field since 2005 and a practicing therapist since 2011. Growth is a strong value for me and I participate in ongoing training and consultation.
